Discoveries

Thanks to the lovely website that is Flavorwire I was able to discover a contemporary photographer whose photographs are both beautiful and tragic.

Meet Araminta de Clermont. Her work is a new take on an old theme: portraiture of the invisible or marginalized. Don't know what I mean? Exhibit A:

Dorothea Lange, Migrant Mother, 1936
And just like Lange, de Clermont's work is not entirely candid, but candid enough to be emotionally resonant AND visually striking.

Here are some of my favorites of de Clermont's work, but do check out more on the website...

From the Life After Series

From the A New Beginning Series

From her selected portraitures
